Kensington System

by Jim Morgan

When Victoria was a child her mother, the Duchess of Kent, imposed a rather spartan rule on her. Victoria was pretty much a prisoner at Kensington Castle.

Her mother and some counsellor named Conroy controlled every facet of Victoria’s life. She was not allowed to spend any time with any children her own age and she was never allowed any time away from either her mother or one of her mother’s aides or governesses.

Victoria was even forced to sleep in her mother’s room every night. This went on until Victoria married when she was 21.

Victoria became Queen of possibly the only superpower in the world at the time when she was 18.
